Age: 17 Race: Half elf, half human( she's self conscious of her ears and makes sure they're covered by her hair ) Gender: Female Height: 163 cm Weight: 55 kg City: Arcania Job: Student at the Academy / amateur potions maker
Abilities: Magic: Specialization with curses and alchemy. Minor healing magic. Minor basic elemental magic.
Curses: She doesn't know any particularly dangerous curses besides minor draining ones, which only cause fatigue and light illness. All of her other curses are basic debuffs, all of which are temporary, such as slowing an enemy down, or lowering defense/strength/magic potency, blinding, or disabling a limb. Spells that disable enemies take longer to cast and leave her vulnerable. Casting curses is rather draining and she needs a slew of potions to maintain her strength, energy and health.
Alchemy: Mainly for potion making and creating catalysts and/or charms that improve the strength of magic. She doesn't know how to craft items, though she does have the potential to do so.
Minor healing: basic healing spells for moderate cuts, scrapes and things. Healing is not her forte, however, and she may sometimes even end up inflicting even more damaging by accident.
Minor elemental: Basically fireballs and the like, nothing special. Be aware, while her attacks may be moderate in terms of strength, you best be wary of her curses, because those combined with her fast casting ability will have you down before you can say 'Oops.'
Like: potion making, reading, practicing magic, going out, people watching, festivals, salty and/or sour foods Dislike: when a potion/spell goes wrong, bitter food, being restricted, nosy people, being shut in for extended periods of time. Personality: Otra is a very independent person, never wanting to be bogged down by having to rely on anyone else. If she has the choice, she'd rather do everything on her own. An optimistic and enthusiastic person, she's often smiling, even in the worst of times, and it's hard to catch her down. Her temper, however, is something to be wary of.
She likes to think she's rather courageous and likes a good challenge. A bright student, she's clever( though sometimes her mouth moves before her mind can really think ), and adaptable. She can easily adjust to different scenarios and is just as resourceful, never letting anything go to waste. Ambitious, and a little proud, she strives to do her best, even if she does get a little( as in very ) distracted along the way. She also has a keen eye and is rather observant.
However, her impatience and impulsiveness make her hard to please and unpredictable. Not to mention her pride also makes her a little sensitive, and her short temper makes her volatile. Not to mention she can be as stubborn as a mule. Taking no as an answer simply isn't an option for her.
History: Otra's led a fairly decent life, not in the lap of luxury, but certainly not in poverty. Her parents own a small potions shop in Arcania and she grew up learning the works and how to make basic potions. It was discovered that she had a particular knack for alchemy as she picked up on how to make potions rather quickly. And it was also later discovered she had an affinity for curses as well, after an unfortunate encounter with one of the local boys. Her parents did not consider sending her to academy despite her increasing talent with magic. As she grew older, she became more of a rebellious teen, wanting independence from her parents, as well as a proper education in magic.
Giving in, Otra's parents finally sent her off to the academy, and she went off happily.
Additional Info: Her staff is made from the roots of nightshade and the wood of an oak cursed with dark magic, improving the power of her curses by 15% with the consequence of slowing her casting speed by about 5%.
She still works in her parents shop, but only for pay to afford what she needs if the shop doesn't already have it.
In gaming terms, I suppose these would be Otra's 'stats': Otra would be mainly a support unit, though she could certainly go for DPS( damage per second ). ATK: 3/10 INT: 9/10 DEF: 5/10 SPD: 8/10
Ah, really? :'D Erm, do you have any preferred methods of rping, then? [Like through comments/notes; then chat vs. lit/paragraph style?] There's just a lot of different ways, and everyone has their own likes, so I'll let you choose since I'm not particularly picky =u=b
Oh, well.. I'm really okay with anything, ha ha. I imagine comments/notes are easier because it's always there to look back on. I'm also fine with both chat and para style rping, I don't mind doing either. I'm more partial to para because it allows for more creative writing.
